DESCRIPTION: \n\n**** SOLD OUT **** \nWhat exactly is ‘giftedness’ and what does it mean for your child – for their academic needs\, and their social and emotional wellbeing? This seminar provides an overview of giftedness: its various definitions\, and what the gifted label means to educators and parents alike. It examines how your child may differ from same age peers and what this means for their development. It will cover various topics\, offering a ‘taster’ of each\, focussing on the social\, emotional and academic needs of gifted children. This is a great place to start if your child has recently been labelled as gifted\, or you would like a refresher. A lot of information will be packed into this seminar and you’ll leave armed with an increased knowledge of how to best help your child. \nSessions will be based at West Perth Medical Centre and led by Dr. Kate Burton. Kate’s research and practice explore the intersection between education\, and social and emotional wellbeing. She has a particular interest in students with diverse learning needs\, specifically gifted and creative children and adolescents.
