Autism, ADHD, Bipolar or ‘Just Gifted’?

22nd March 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Trying to unpick mental health concerns and disorders in gifted children is often a very difficult task. Both misdiagnoses and ‘missed diagnoses’ seem to happen frequently. At such an uncertain time what questions will help you decide whether or not something else besides giftedness might be at play for your child? We’ll explore relevant research in the field to gain a better understanding of such a complex subject.

Sessions will be based at West Perth Medical Centre and led by Dr. Kate Burton. Kate’s research and practice explore the intersection between education, and social and emotional wellbeing. She has a particular interest in students with diverse learning needs, specifically gifted and creative children and adolescents. Numbers will be kept small to ensure sessions are both informal and interactive.

Cost: $75 per seminar Location: West Perth Medical Centre.
